Kawaski alternator connect to battery

Have Kawaski 17 h.p.about 1995.two dark wires comeing out of motor case.How do they connect to battery? any help will be appreciated. thanks dick

The 2 wires are coming from the stator, which is under the flywheel. They provide ac voltage to the regulator, which turns it into dc voltage. The regulator is what has a battery wire attached to it.

As posted the 2 wires coming out of the engine are from the stator and they are producing AC voltage those 2 wires connect to a voltage regulator, the regulator will have 3 connectors 2 are were the 2 ac wires connect the 3rd connector is DC and is connected to the battery thur the wiring system, very unlikely the wire would go directly to the battery.
