FE35 originality

Hi Guys. I’m the proud owner of a 1956 FE35 (casting date 26-10-6).

Most photos I see of restored gold/grey show them with 16″ front wheels and the later bucket seat.

My workshop manual and also also authentic model, show 19″ front wheels and a dish seat.

Comments appreciated.

Thanks. Rod.

Let us see some pics. Here's my standard gas before restoration.

2tractors, is yours a Gold Belly? Reason I am curious is because it doesn't have the Gold Belly front hood emblem. You didn't mention what year yours is. Thank you. Richard

Here are some pics of the last one I restored for a customer. The
19"wheels were an option. The single clutch models had only a pan
seat and no rev counter. Is your tractor diesel or straight petrol?
The 3rd pic is of the FE35 number 1 in the MF museum in France.
It had a chrome grille fitted for show purposes. Make a list of any
parts you may need and let me know. If they are small enough I can
maybe bring them to the FENA Expo for you. load up any pictures
you have and I may be able to tell just how original it is.

Thanks samn40. That info has cleared a lot up. Thanks also for the offer to bring small parts to FENA. But I live DownUnder ;-). Mine is a SGM, so dual clutch. Petrol. Does anyone have photos of the instruments?
Also, I read that the dual clutch model was known as the "deluxe". Was this on the tractor anywhere?
It is also mentioned that the seat cushions had grey, not red, pin striping.
Thanks. Rod.

the seat cushions had gold piping on a grey PVC? fabric. Ihave had
these cushions made up and can send you a cover if you cannot get
one locally....So you are not going to the Fena Expo? You just don't
know what you are missing! Get the hold of Charles and the rest of
the upsidedowners and fly out to Ohio! LOL
I have only pics of the early diesel gauges....The oil gauge in the
dash is on FE number 1 The other is the most common Smiths
gauge.

I found no evidence of gold paint and haven't researched what year it is but I tell you this it has loads of power and out performs my 50 and 35's, just love it!!

According to wikipedia, "The new FE35 was introduced in October 1956 in grey and gold livery and became the red and grey MF (Massey Ferguson)35 at the Smithfield Show in December 1957."
Is that when they started manufacturing, as my casting date is 26-10-6.
Rod.

My next question is, what data plate was fitted to the left of the ignition light. It appears it was affixed by 4 pop rivets.
