Has anyone replaced the rings on the hyd.pump piston when rebuilding pump? Rebuild kit from Sparex doesn't have rings. A new piston shows just one larger ring. Pistons in pump shows to be OK but didn't have any rings. A person that had worked on tractors for years back in the days said he never replaced any rings and didn't remember any having rings. AGCO parts book shows one ring. ?????

There were no rings on either of the ones I have/had. I bought the full rebuild kit from this site for one of mine and it included pistons and cylinders etc. and had no rings. I think that's normal. I believe I asked something similar when I was rebuilding mine and came to the conclusion that some had a single ring, the ones that didn't had 3 grooves.

Early Pistons did not have rings at all, they don"t need them. Just fit the Pistons. It was only later Pumps that had any rings fitted to Pistons John(UK)
