Moving that thing has to be interesting, best not take it down the paved road to the next farm. :)

Packers used to be common when everyone had a few acres of alfalfa to seed for a few cows or beef. But they all got sold more or less for scrap a couple decades ago.

Now everyone wants to roll soybeans right after planting to push rocks back in and level the ground for harvest, so a lot of 40 foot folding smooth rollers around.

A very few dont like the super smooth result of a big roller, and are using coil or dimpled packers.

Really no use or need for such a shark tooth aerator for our crops and soil types, so Ive never seen anything like that here locally.

Its all corn and soybeans into a heavy clay based wet soil here. I cant see it doing anything for our crops.

Its good here to open up the hard dry clay and let the grass grow . These fields were so hard I had to fill it with water to make it go in the ground .

That might be the difference. We have wet clay soils.

In 2012 we had a dry summer and fall. The clay baked hard. We couldnt do fall tillage. Moldboard plows wouldnt dig in. And we know how to set them, new shares and all. In the compacted low areas the plow would skid over the top.

Chisel plows would also skid over the top, or break. Rippers would stall out the tractors. Or rip up sheets of dirt.

Finally some found the very heavy disks (whishek) worked pretty good. We usually dont use disks here, bad deal in wet clay. But millions of dollars of new big disks were sold that fall!

The dry land here gets hard but the irrigated ground is where it gets really really hard as you know wet clay turns to cement block . Id like to have a wishek disc or a big g for breaking out sod

We only get that dry once a decade or less.

Always an inch or two rain in the next month to change things.

So my boss got one of these at an auction and can not figure out the maker or model to find parts, any help would be greatly appreciated!
