Orchard grass field question

I'd appreciate your input. I have a field that was pretty well used up when I bought it. Fescue and previous farmer just cut and hauled. After a few years as the hay cuts went down I decided to move it into orchard grass. I get multiple soil tests every other year and everything is in spec range.
Three years back I sprayed, planted with sudex, sprayed, and then followed with orchard grass in a nurse of wheat.
Now, I'm starting to see thin spots that I'd like to resolve. It seems to make sense to me to over-drill with orchard grass. But, I'm getting conflicting advice.

What say you?
TIA.

From what I see in nature, orchard grass will reseed itself if left to head out completely. Alfalfa cant for example. So, my thoughts are just reseed it
