Bats In Barn!

Hello,
I'm not sure if this is the best forum for this but reckon maybe someone else has had to deal with the problem I'm having. I have bats in one of my barns causing
a mess. I'm looking for an effective way to get rid of them. Does anyone have any effective ideas?
Thanks,
Dave

I'd try one of those sonic devices that is suppose to keep bugs and mice etc. out. Bat hear very well so good chance they would not stay with one of those in there

i think in most states bats are protected, so you cant harm them. if the sonic thing doesnt work, try some led spot or flood lamps where the bats are roosting as the dont like bright light. maybe put some bat houses out so they can find another home. i put up a couple bat houses at my farm and then put a sign up so the bats would know its for them!

My hats off to ya. Bats are one of the most Beneficial critters on the planet. I have a few bat houses on my property but they seem to prefer tree cavities in my woods. I dont blame the OP for not wanting them messing up the barn. Hopefully he can encourage them to roost else where.

They should be in hibernation pretty quick,I would expect them to find better wintering place.

Hello my cousin had bats in his house atic he put LED lights 4 ft shop type on stands with the light pointing up seamed to work only draw back slight rise in electric bill , but bats eat mosquitoes ( about their body weight every night ) so they are worth keeping around, good luck Bryan

My old post and beam barn is a bat condominium. I have probably at least 50 living in there and very rarely a mosquito to be found any where near. I have tarps up above the cross beams that are at around twelve feet up. I empty them every fifteen years. There are a few bats that are not over the tarps so I have buckets strategically placed. Guano is 30% nitrogen so it really helps growth of whatever you may be growing.
