Got an 8 acre field of hay next to the house with 2 acres under 3-4 inches of water. Very common here in SW Michigan, swampy. This is my second year here and last year that spot stayed wet until July after 2nd cut, and it seems to be spreading.
Because it's so shallow I don't think I could put a 3" or even 2" pump out there. Could I use/would I ruin one of those 1" clean water 2 cycle pumps? Or is there a flat strainer of some type I could put on a 2 inch pump? Or do I need a semi-trash pump?
I'd like to irrigate the rest of the field, was thinking I could send a 1" line reduced to 3/4 into a splitter for a sprinklers. Specs say it will push 80gpm 10 feet. I think my sprinklers use less than 10gpm.
Help appreciated.
