There was no rain predicted today.
Last night, so early morning, a cell set up 50 miles west of me and dumped 4-10 inches of rain in a 6 hour period on a fairly large area of SW Minnesota.
No big urban centers in that part of the state, so it gets mentioned politiely and they move on in the midday tv news.
But I think there will be a lot of devastation over that way. Some twitter pics show bread trucks bobbing in the water, the Wabasso JD dealership has water surrounding all the display tractors, etc.
Rivers were already swollen and bear or over flood stage before this rain.
