Didn't ever think I would say that for my part of SC. I was late planting garden because of late cool weather and a broken down digger. It rained often also. Got a few dry days and planted sweet corn, beans and okra. Then Alberto the storm came and it rained a lot and every day. Very few plants came up, but weeds and grass thrived. I had used some Merit corn seed that had been stored in a refrigerator for a couple of years, but, not trusting it I went to a store to get some new seed. No more merit, they said, it has been replaced by Bodacious. What happened to Merit? We have been using it with great satisfaction for years because of its great taste and ease of removing the silks. Like a lot of other things, such as Vise Grip pliers, it seems that they can't keep a good thing going.
The beans and Okra seed were new so we replanted them with the same seed.
