sweet corn

Not me,but I wish I could get some. The wife tends to let it go while she's messing with tomatoes instead.
 
i plant semis obsession 2 round up ready. good yields, its a peaches and cream type, very sweet .
 
I wish they could make raccoon resistant sweet corn. I can pull weeds but the raccoons just keep finding the corn.
 
As I will be doing my first crop of sweet corn this year, I really wanted to go with a RR obsession II or a peaches and cream but its proving impossible to get my hands on this stuff. My wife isn't exactly thrilled about me wanted to treat our crops with Round up. Shes fine with me burning off the initial weeds but so far we have always maintained no herbicide types of weed control. So it looks like I may just be planning regular Sweet Corn and spending a lot of time cultivating rows this year
 
The cost made me decide against it but that was a couple years ago. I have a fairly clean patch if I use a pre emergent herbicide so can in control of the weeds. Coon can smell a ripe sweet corn patch a mile away I think.
 
I've planted obsession 2 now for 3 years. I don't really like the whole GMO thing but I can't really grow it without it. I was doing some figuring last year and I'm questioning if it's worth the cost. I plant it to sell at the market and what profit I do have over soybeans doesn't seem to be worth the time. I have 2 patches in now and might go back to a hybrid corn once I'm out of seeds.
