Planting soy beans

First time planting soy beans with John Deere 290. Using 30 inch rows planting round up ready beans. Wanting to know how many inches between seeds. Also what type of fertilizer if they even still offer the type to put in the cans on the planter? Thanks, Mark

8-11 seeds per foot, depending on the population you want.

The old saying is corn uses fertilizer; beans use fertility. Meaning you can feed fertilizer to corn plants, but beans go get their meals from what is already in the ground, not so well from a fresh band of fertilizer. You are better off $$ fertilizing corn and not doing too much to beans.

But yes you can get granular fertilizer, would want something very low in N, and higher in P and K. Don't get too close to the bean soybeans are sensitive to getting much salt.

Forget the spacing it's population per acre. Only fertilizer I used with bean was potash. I be doing some soil testing to check fertility.
