What rate per acre does a guy charge for pulling grain drill?? M farmall, 8ft. drill. I provided tractor, gas, and operater. Drill was provided by another party and rent for it will be paid separately. Please restrict answeres to cost per acre. Hours were not recorded. Also, don't include cost for use of drill.

Can find some nice average prices for a operator and hp per hour, but you don't want to convert what you covered per acre to a good guess of how May hours it took. So we have to for you.

Operator is about $12 an hour, and guessing you covered 4 acres an hour, so that would be $3 an acre for the driver. Really for driving such a simple tractor on a rather simple job should be closer to minimum wage.....

Tractors is about 20 cents per hp per hour or $8 an hour, or $2 an acre. - but you were only using half those hp on an easy no wear type of load on a well worn paid for tractor so 1/2 of that would be a more reasonable, cover the costs, type of price.

There is a lot of room to adjust price for friends, for enemies, for moving the price to where I don't ever want you to ask me again to do this, and so forth. Around here neighbors would start with a full gas tank and get it refilled and call it even, get a favor in return over the years.

I'd say $5 an acre would seem high, but a going rate if that's what you want. Make it higher if you never want to do it again, or lower if you want the fella to help you sometime.

If it was govt work you need to triple it to keep up with other contractors.......

You got to give us more to go on then that. How many acres are we talking. If it is 5 acres or less I would just tell him to bring me a case of beer.

I would think $5 per acre would be reasonable. $50 for a ten acre field just for the tractor don't sound too bad for either party.

I rent two different notill drills one is $8.00 the other 10 just for the drill. I would charge $15 per acre if someone wanted to hire me to do it even with a regular drill. Tom

$20-$24 per acre for custom drilling. Drills usually rent for $9-12 per acre. So for the tractor, fuel, and operator, $8-15 per acre.
