you are descibibng the barley we grow in southern ind , J ,, never tried spring barley or wheat here ,, only spring oats. , oats are great for making baby pigslook like little football players bavk in my hawg raixin days , barley , also was great for sows nursing baby pigs ,,. and i liked to mix it with corn or onon wheat and feed it on the fat floor ,,.. my btu neighbor has some that goes to the beer makers ..
