Didn't think we would get more than see a flake go by, but even at noon today, there was a coating of snow on the NW sides of trees, round
bales, buildings. Really stuck on. Was up to 36 at 1:00 in the afternoon.

Tonight is supposed to be the cold one, then heavier rain on Sunday into Tuesday morning, and warms up end of next week.

Oats and barley should be fine.

Wonder how the corn will do in the fields? I'm surprised how many did not plant yet, but a lot did the past few days.

Probably works out.

Glad my seed is in the bag yet tho. I'm small time, I can get it done in May.

Was a surprise to see snow this morning! Not many here planted there corn as soon as expected, most just did some early this week. My instincts told me not to put corn in yet, had some nice weather to do it back around the 10th up till early this week. Not sure how it would have worked out, mine is in the bag yet also and figured to start after the first of May, just listening to my instincts! Oats has the ground all green and waving nicely in the wind. This is SW WI.

5 or 6 inches of snow today and its still coming down, nights are supposed to be below freezing for the next 5 or 6 days. Add that to the 5-6 inches of rain in the last 7 days and there won't be any field work for a few weeks UP here.

Very little corn planted in SE WI. I have none; I know of none in the neighborhood. It was tempting the past few days, but hauled manure, planted alfalfa, etc.

Normally we'd like to have a good start by now. But the forecast of cold rain for a week was a bit scary! My son's birthday is MAy 6th. We have had years we have been done by then. I hope to be started by that time this year!

Somebody told me last week fro SW WI... "If you want to plant twice, you gotta start early."

right now here in Texas, it snowing in the pan handle, storming in east Texas, and 81* in the valley at the mouth of the rio grand.

And just wait, 5 minuets it's gonna change!!
