Cold Potatoes

I planted my potatoes on Feb. 14 they came up in a perfect stand they were 3 to 4 inches high but last night Mar. 15 we had a cold front come through and dropped the temp. to 29 degrees. They looked like you had poured hot water on them about 2:00 PM today. Has anyone had this happen before and will they come out of this or would it be best to replant them. By the way I live in south Ga. The potatoes are pontiac red. Thanks for any help

I don't usually plant mine till about now. I've had the same thing happen. Even had some snow on them. They got set back a little, but always seem to make it. I plant Pontiac, Kennebec, and Yukon Gold. Give em a little time, doesn't cost anything to wait. Still plenty of time. At least here in SW MO.

I've had that happen to me before and so far when it has happened they have come back. Plan to put out taters today being that it is St Pats day today

Potatoes are tough. Around here if it looks like frost coming I just hill them up enough to cover the tops. They will grow through the dirt.
