Three point tiller help

I have a small yanmar traoctor which has for number of years served as my mowing machine, and gardent tractor. I have struggled for some time using a plow and a disc for soil prep, and when I found a good deal locally on a kubota three point tiller, couldn't refuse. Love it, but not sure I have it adjusted, and or using it correctly and could use some help. When I make a pass, on the end where I start, it makes a big hump of soil, and when I get to the end of the pass, it leaves almost a trench. Is this just to be expected, do I not have things adjusted correctly, or not using it correctly?

You might be traveling too fast but then again I remember a tiller bought at a sale by my FIL over
30 years ago that someone had reversed the tines on because they were about wore out and that
tiller threw dirt up in piles, your tines ought to spin the same direction as your tractor tires
when moving forward.

I think all tillers (with tines rotating the same direction as the tractor wheels) move the dirt to the rear a small amount. This also applies to walk-behind tillers (such as Troy-Bilt). This seems to be what you are seeing. I think it is normal.

How do I know I have the top link adjusted correctly?

You just need to be smoother setting it
down and lifting it up. While you are
moving. Should be level when down. But
hard to mess up a tiller.
