buying ear corn

was having a chat with neighbor bout corn field,,,,i might have a chance to get some corn for picking,,how would one come to a fair price for buying the corn? his corn his field, and I would do the picking and buy the ear corn
 
More or less like kernel corn.

Weight is 70lbs per bu, to account for the cobs and a few husks.

Adjust for moisture like normal.

Adjust for the harvesting being on your dime, not the sellers.

When I sold some like that a few years ago (dairy fella got bad hail, needed 1000bu ear corn) I also knocked off a few cents for saving me the cost of drying the corn. He bought it at about 17-19% moisture, so we adjusted it for the normal 14% here - not going to charge him for the 3-5% water - and then I said well I didnt need to dry it as I normally would be charged a discount for that 5% drying as well, so I took another few cents off.
