Generic roundup

I bought some roundup for the grapes and have been looking at generic roundup. I havent compared prices yet but assuming its cheaper for be to get generic roundup I was wondering if I can use this for roundup ready soybeans?

I've bought the cheap stuff from TSC - about $25 per jug cheaper. It works but seems to take longer. Not sure why as it lists the same percentage of glyphosphate.

There Re different concentrations of glyphosate.

As long as you are comparing the same strengths to each other, its the same stuff.

Some might have better or less surfactants in them, but generally all work about the same and work on roundup ready crops.

The higher price stuff has additives to make it penetrate the leaves better so it works quicker.

Not sure that this would be a good idea with roundup ready crops but my grandpa would use less but mix laundry soap in so it would stick to the leaves and absorb in instead or running off onto the ground.

I buy the generic stuff at Rural King in 30 gal drums and spray my beans and corn with it and never have any problems. I do add crop oil when I spray tho.

We have been using laundry detergent since Atrazine came out years ago. Seems like you can use a little weaker solution and get as good or better kill.

I put a pencil to it years ago. With 750 acres of beans I wanted to be efficient. Besides the fact that I have a roundup tote for ease of use, the increased amount you have to use to get the same results negates the cost benefits. I use gallon jugs of generic on the driveway weeds, but I'm not worried about timeliness or resistance there. With margins so close you can't afford to give weeds a chance. You get what you pay for.

Generic vs. Powermax, there is a 25% difference in labelled rate. Cost wise, The powermax is 100% more expensive than the Generic.

When used at labeled rates I see no difference in performance.
