Anyone know which sprokets to use with 240 bean drum ???? Can not find anything in planter book giving drives to give 140 thousand seed drop/acre

I have a newer CIH planter but my book is in the tractor and not near me currently. My manual has fold out pages toward the back with all the different drum tables listed along with the drive/driven sprocket pop settings. My manual is at least 1" plus thick, I would assume the 800 manual would be similar in size and content. By chance is there a large decal on the side of the hopper? Our previous CIH planter also had a large factory applied decal on the side of the hopper that gave that info as well. The one I have now doesn't though. I plant beans a tad over 160k in 30" rows so even if I had the sprockets memorized they would be different, sorry.

Thanks a lot for replying guys......Brownswiss.....I knew it was a math deal .........my personal weak area lol Figured out with the help of wife Denise what the equation would be and have arrived at the answer.

Now have to do gear switch...install bean drum and be ready to roll. Arrived at pop. of 150,000 plus in 30" rows......This my first year in 30'ies...sold the 8300JD controlled spill drill...LOL

Thanks again...John in Nort. Cent. Wi. Clark Co.

here in southern ind I plant 175k ,..sumthin to think about,. most seeds are in the lows 90s percentile for germinztion ,. that will drop my up and growing green plants to around 155k..i have used a 400 cyclo for 30 yrs ,,those numbers of seeds and the math used is dead on,. I also have a haybuster drill controlled spilldropper that worx great in perfect soil and weather conditions , I use it for alfalfa seeding and or covercrop in the fall.i also have a ihc 5100 drill . that I pull a cultipacker behind to get best results to set the soybean in the ground and hold moisture ,..I disc , then plant ..

glad you have your wife to help you comprehend the math ,,you need a helper because farming takes a lot of thought and reason . make sure you let her know you appreciate her help.. there is a lot to be gained by working togetherin harmony and tandem ,,1 and 1 makes 2 ,, but two ones paired together can have the power of ELEVEN . . make sure you understand drive and driven sprockets , plant one bag only and calculate and judge if the seed covered a estimated acre of ground

Last year using 8300 JD drill......planting different size beans at same setting....Son planted 160,000 seeds per acre....I planted 120,000....His yielded less than one bushel more than mine and his were on better dirt .
