Just joined today after doing some research it brought me to this site. Lots of great info so far. My question is does anyone know what plate I can use to plant hutcheson soybean with. Just bought the JD7100 and have a lot of different corn plates. I read sometimes you can get better planting with a corn plate than soybean. Any info would be great. Want to plant in a week or so, trying to figure everything out like which sprockets also. Thanks in advance

Pick a plate you think is right, set the transmission to the sprockets the manual suggests, and 'plant' across your druveway packed gravel. Beans will stay on top of the hard gravel. Count the seeds per foot, and then adjust the plates or sprockets to fit actual conditions.

It will depend on the bean size, changes some year to year.

A plate 7000 is rare around here, all finger units here.
