In the 90's we ridge tilled silty clay loam soil. I liked planting in moisture, the lack of soil erosion and it was an easy way to deal with cornstalks. I had a 7000 with Hiniker row cleaners then got B&H row cleaners. I cultivated with a wide row black Hiniker which I still have and would be easy to narrow up to 30 inch rows. I have a Buffalo Scout guidance hitch which I didn't have when I ridged. I would just have to get a planter set up again. I still have my B&H row cleaners. I would just have to get two more. Maybe I am crazy to think about it but it worked pretty well and we got good yields. It had many of the benefits of strip tillage but the raised seed bed warmed up and dried out quicker up north.
