What to plant?

I live in southern michigan and have been thinking about what to plant this year. I have 11 acres of open ground and was planning to put in soybeans but been thinking about trying to do something to make more money. Maybe rye or something to bag and sell seed? Beer breweries are all over now, maybe some sort grain for beer?

Might check with the breweries first and see what they need,if anything. Doesn't make sense to grow something just assuming if you grow it,they'll buy it.

If you have horse people around you check with them and see if they are interested in oats. It is the time to plant about now.

Barley meant for malting is of a totally different variety than feed grade barley. Do some research on it. Also, most barley is planted in fall, like wheat so you might be late to the plate on that one. Another point to note is most micro brewers prefer to buy their grain already malted, so you may want to research where the brewers get their barley malted to find a market.
