Lime does not kick in the first year . Also what tillage are you using ? If what you apply is still on top and they probe deep it might not show also watch your ratios and balance. Are you applying manure that also well affect it

Your base ph is still on the low side. It will start to creep up as time goes, but it is still low. Looking at it, your soil may be kind of thin as far as organic matter goes. The fescue could be thickened with some other grasses to help your root zones develop. Look at your bottom lines- they will tell you the basic recommendations for both pieces. I would have them custom mixed at about 150-100-100 for the fescue and at 60-75-150 for the legume mix. You can also split your lime, about a ton now and another 1/2 in the fall, and you should get god results, but you have to remember that it will cost to spread it in a split application, so 1 1/2 now may be more economical. It does take time to work, but if you get the ph up, it will result in a longer lasting crop and make it easier to tweak it later. Your cec is also down, which means the soil should react to higher doses of fertilizer well because it has the capacity to bind the nutrients. But, even though it will cost for a bit, building your fertility will pay fairly quickly when measured over a few years. Don't play thorobred with- be the Belgian and just keep pulling. You.ll still get to the end of the field, but you'll have accomplished something. You may also want to plant some deep rooted crops like Daikon radish and crimson clover late this summer to help your root zones over next fall and winter.

How much pasture you want to grow your local co-op where you had the sample ran would be the place to ask.I'm in TN not far from you.I would put all the lime down now,no more than 60 units of nitrogen, all the phosphate, and half the k .THEN put another 60-30-60 on mid season.I raise and sell square orchardgrass hay, just letting you know where how I made my recommendation.

i got 15 acre of pasture with ky31 clover mix. talked to coop and they wont be able to lime for atleast 2months. so does that mean i need 60lb of nitrate, 73lb of phospherous and 145lb of potatassium per acre?

if so that would be 278lbs per acre so i would need about 4200lbs of fertilizer am i figuring right?

If you need 60lbs of actual N, and if you are using urea which is 42% N I believe, you would be applying 142 lbs of material per acre.

Likewise the P and K, they are not 100%, so you are applying more lbs of material to get the lbs of actual you want. Some mix of MAP, DAP, and phosphorous.
