Soybean root rot

I have large patches in my bean fields that are dying and they look like they have a root rot problem. It was a wet spring and summer and now it has gotten dry as heck. Anybody else seeing this after a wet spell? i have also pulled healthy looking plants and the root systems are poor with poor nodulation and not as many pods as they should have. Like to be looking at a very poor yield. From the road the fields look good, not great, but good. Nice stand, nice and green, and about thigh high.

Look up SDS Sudden Death Syndrome in soybeans. It can get started by cysts nematodes that open up the roots so the SDS spoors can enter the plant.

It's pricey, but I had all of my Liberty beans treated. It was originally because I was going to plant them early into cool wet soil. Those are the best fields now and they weren't planted early. Actually the last. The coating helped with cysts and other issues. It was good insurance I will do from here on out. I'm not sure why I drug my feet trying Liberty, but those beans look like a million bucks. We are supposed to have an early frost and they are 4.8's. I have my fingers crossed. They are putting on pods now.

Not sure what state you are in, but it's a moot point now. I have a few fields where there are dead circles the size of a car. I can tell something ate off the seedlings. Those were no till fields and the rats were bad in them when I cut off the last crop. Time to fill those fields. If the make it to maturity so you have enough root mass to stand the cutting? It could get tricky.
