When is the last date you would plant 1.9 and 1.6 beans? I still have about 25 acres left to plant but this weather is killing my field time. Most of it is semi-sandy loam but one field is heavy clay so if I can get 2 more good days I should be able to get on the fields to get disked again and plant that evening. Thoughts?

I don't raise beans. Corn, oats and hay for cattle feed is all that I grow. I've seen beans go in this late and do OK,but I don't know anything about what they were.

I"ve planted beans as late as June 30 and made a crop, but with an Evans variety....before the digital designation. Might be a .8? Hr NW of MPLS, latitude 45.3.

Thanks. I am south central MI here. I know that some around here try and double crop with .6 after wheat but not sure about .9. I have managed to get both. If It does not rain on us tomorrow I will be able to get into the last 3 fields and finish disking and get planted by Friday. What a spring!!!!

Last year we got floods in June, I replanted 10 acres of beans July 4th, typical 'last day to bother' here. I just used 1.6 beans I had on hand.

They looked beautiful, and woulda been a 30+ yield, except for that freak early mid September frost we had, froze the top 1/3 off, ended up with 14 bu/a of tiny seed off of them. Two more weeks til a typical first frost, and they woulda been some really nice beans!

Dad typically planted until June 20th here with kinda regular season 1.9-1.6 beans. I put more tile in, so hope I improve on that......

In my location you can plant until July 4th, maybe the 10th or so but that is pushing it into hopeful you get a crop.....

Yup and it is a mess for sure. Have not been able to get on 2 of the 3 fields to disk and the one that is disked needs to be disked before I can plant it. But I think that even with 1.6 beans I am out of time to plant? I have enough 1.6 beans to plant about half my fallow ground.
