I bush hawgt a field that I normally bale for hay ,,, and left it ,, too many sprigs of hemlock weed ,, and I did not want to risk my cows lives ,.. I have been told that it is poison untilndestryerd and,,.. then,, I have been told that if cured with hay cows will not eat it,,. and the poison is not nearly as potent, and or gone in cured hay ,. does any.one know the facts about this menace /?

Never seen a whole bunch in a field, usually in shaded spots on edges. Let us know what you find out. You have any pictures?

Basicly, everything you stated is true. It indeed is poisonous. The good news is cows seem to never eat it unless forced to. I"ve had it on my farm for several years now........never lost a cow to it that I know of. It's becoming more of a menace each year. WAY too much of it growing along road ditches that never gets mowed off. I had a few plants of it this year in one of my hay fields. It went into the bale. I find it in the winter still laying in the feeder. Cows won't eat it.
