OT?Bu Capacity (Mathmeticians?)

I have a wagon which is 6' by 11'6". If my sides are 2' high, how many bushels of oats will it hold? Although I know it isn't entirely accurate, I usually consider a bushel of oats weighs 33 pounds as it makes calculating much simpler. Thanks, kelly

Well your wagon will hold 138 cubic feet (6' x 11.5' x2' = 138 ft^3).

1 U.S. bushel = 1.24445 ft^3

So, in bushels your wagon will hold 110.9 bushels (138 ft^3 x 1 bu/1.2445ft^3 = 110.89 bu)

Oats weigh 32 lb/bu at 14% moisture. If you fill it to the top, you'll be hauling 3,548.55 lb + the wagons weight of course.

6' X 11.5' = 69 square feet X 2' = 138 cubic feet / 1.24 cu ft to the bushel = 111.3 bushels (level full).
