I have been too sick to hold my head up since Sunday after noon. My nose has run like a river, I have coughed so much my back is about out, but I started turning the corner this afternoon. With this winter of unsteady temperatures, I have wondered how many of you have been Ill this winter and how has the livestock held up through this winter?

My wife just came down with the flu crud. Yesterday it was a sore throat and cough and today it is that plus fever, chills, aches, no appetite - the works. We have a number of friends around here who are fighting similar stuff so it is maybe making the rounds. So far the kids and myself have been healthy but it will be interesting to see how long that lasts.

I've had a couple afternoons where I have that 'feeling' before you actually feel sick.... So far the morning I've felt good again, knock on my wooden head.

Livestock have demolished my corn field they get to roam in over winter, typically by Christmas it is covered deep in snow, but this year most we've gotten is 3 inches in a day, and it shrinks away before the next snow. So they have done quite well, despite the bitter cold February and early March we are having.

Anyhow not important, what is is that you get better and get back to full speed!

I hope you recover fast. I was sick all through December, started as stomach flu, then had crud in lungs that made the lymph nodes in my back hurt like the dickens, just to get over that and get a sinus infection. But as far as this winter I can't complain, cows milked well and no frozen teats, the cattle grew great, last year they lost weight through winter but not this year. The only times I could not scrape yards was a week or so in November and now February was to cold but going to warm up and can get them soon I hope. Never had over 6 inches of snow on the ground at a time and driving only had a couple days of slippery roads. All in all as long as I don't get sick again it was a great winter in sw wi, knock on wood!

We have been dealing with the flu here also. Missed a couple days work. Cows have been doing great. Not much snow in the fields but with the cold temps they are eating a lot. Hope you get feeling better

I am feeling much better guys, the news tonight is calling for eighty degrees next Thursday, after our high of twenty eight today. Maybe, spring is just around the corner and we can all catch a big dose of Spring Fever!

I'm not sure what I got this week but it was nasty. I woke up at 4 am on Tuesday with 101 fever. No stomach, head, or lung issues. I started to worry about an infection in my bad heart valve. At 6 I drove to the ER with the fever and a screaming headache. They said it must be the flu. Gotta love small town hospitals. I should have driven to the to the vet. I had the worst headache and constant fever until I woke up this morning. Yesterday my eyes were swollen my headache was so bad. Today I feel normal so I guess it is past. I sure hope.

Wife was doing the chores. Every animal survived but most looked happy that I was back among the living.
