Tractor HP vs implement rating

Hey guys,

So I have a 50HP MF65, and I'm working on 1.10m (approx. 42in) wide beds. Now I didn't realize this but not many implements are made to be that narrow while also being rated to work on tractors with this kind of horsepower.

So, my question is, can someone explain to me what the effects of using lower rated implements (say, a 20HP PTO rated rototiller) on a 50HP tractor?

Is the implement going to break right out of the gate, is it going to wear prematurely?...

Thanks!

Smaller implements most likely have a lighter
built frame (and driveline if pto powered),
they shouldn't break right out of the gate, but
will need to be babied somewhat to get any life
out of them, if you're 50hp tractor is working
hard a 20hp rated implement isn't going to last
long, however if the 50hp tractor is doing the
work at idle rpms (non pto powered equipment)
then the implement should last a while.

For pto powered equipment then it is important
not to work the tractor when using it... go as
slow as you can, and make sure any overload
devices (clutch/shearbolt) are set correctly,
these should protect the implement from flying
apart.

As far as a rotovator is concerned it might be
better to use larger one and remover the
blades that aren't needed for the raised bed.
