So how was 14 for you?

All in all 2014 was a darn good year for me over all. I am very hopeful that 2015 will be just as good or if possible better. My hoop house project did not turn out as well as it should have, but that was my fault, I need to spend more time with it and get some better help hired.

Everything I did was a month behind due to the weather, but yields were good,so things were OK in general.

Sucked big time found out I lost the battle as for my driveway due to the poor justice system in my area and crook for lawyers. I am loosing $3000 a year or more due to the crooks in this area

I guess when I look at the whole picture - weather, job, family, money,my old machinery, etc I can't complain. Can't get excited over it either. I did add a couple of small tractors to the fleet. I turned 60 so that started me down a new path in life. Started using the word "retirement" in a few sentences. Still have a way to go on that one.

It was my best year in many years, on several fronts, just wish these years would slow down a little.

Best year I've ever had, by far. Hay sales were off a bit from the last 2 years but no huge repair bills, cattle prices certainly made for a pleasant year, and construction finally picked up with a vengeance. It finally hit the point I broke down and bit the bullet and formed a corporation and have turned everything off the two farms that I own over to him.

Here's hoping that 2015 will be as good or better.

Made it through, so it was good.

Was a very tough crop year, but somehow the beans did very good, and while the corn was disappointing it yielded ok so can't complain. I've done so many things the past 5 years to improve corn; and the weather has done so many things in return to keep the corn down..... I'd like an ok weather year for corn and beans to see results from my opi prove menus......

Everybody here had full belly's and the old lady had 50 100.00 bills in her hand Christmas Eve for her home improvements. A gift that just keeps giving! Lol

Charlie,
It's hard to tell people that you are retired. I'm 59, and people look at me, and I know they are thinking "Really?"

Crops (wheat, milo and hay) were maybe a little above average (but prices suck!). Cattle prices were great. Had a big hiccup in late Jan. '14 with by-pass surgery, but getting along great. Not much going on in the way of improvements on the farm other than with the help of a son we got a catch pen built in a pasture that I had been putting off for years. Best thing is that all the family is healthy and well.
