Has anyone done much of anything since Christmas? Everything is a snails pace around here. I really don't see much at all getting done until after New Years week. Even though I have wanted to catch up in the shop this week it has almost been impossible to do. Way too much socializing has gone on and for a change it was real nice. I may try to do more of it next year. How about you?

My 8 yr old son and I started to clean up the combine. Hauled the last load of corn to the elevator. Started to clean up wagon and now in the process of repacking wheel bearings. A lot of socializing here too, but my shop has cold beer so I usually have help. Lol

Trying to get poop hauled, then going and hooking back on the picker. No snow and not to much in the forecast, hope can get it done!

had the grandgirls here for a couple days - don't get much accomplished but it's worth it.

I ground feed Friday, does that count? I don't know if I'll clean feedlots today or tomorrow. The mess is pretty sloppy, temps are dropping,I need to get it out before it freezes solid, but I don't want to have to chase it all over.

Got the inlaws out from the big city (4 hours drive) so not too much doing, Chores every morning, not too much fun the temp is way down here now, -30 this morning when i got up, i have a couple of projects in the workshop, but they have been at a standstill since a few days before Christmas, no point trying to do anything, nobody wants to order parts, and then they take for ever to arrive anyway, and when the one local dealer charges $15 minimum for "next day" delivery (providing you order before 10am)... i don't see paying delivery charges for something to arrive a week later

Got 5 loads of manure hauled this morning. Ground finally firmed up some but wouldn't want to stop for very long on the field. Will put out bedding after lunch then to the shop to try and create some cash flow. As others said, too much socializing.

Cutting firewood. Finished an order for 7 cords for a customer, 30 more to go for the three outdoor wood boilers on the farm.

With the mild weather I spent a lot of time cleaning and tinkering on the combine.

Had much more than the usual company.

Trying to get year end financial stuff in order.

I've got a long list - it needs to stay cold for a long time. I worked over all of the lawn mowers so they are ready for spring. I have been cleaning dead trees out of the fence rows a little at a time. I need to make four gates for a hog pen to allow easier loading, I need to repack the wheel bearings on the little stock trailer. I need to put a new rear hub on one of the tractors. The combine hasn't been touched since beans and needs a patch piece put in between the grain tank auger and unloading auger. I've also got to fix a spot in the kitchen ceiling and retile above the upstairs shower. The last two are waiting until a nice snow storm. Oh, and tomorrow I have to finish loading up the grain truck and take a load to the scrappers. Whew, I'm really tired just thinking about it.

Its been very wet here in Georgia for the past week and I've had to work my regular job thru Christmas anyway so the wet hasn't been an issue. Before Christmas I was working on my raised beds (started project last spring) and hope to finish this project within the next few weeks. I have a long list of things to do but I'm short of round-to-its.

I don't have a written plan for building these. I saw one online and sketched a design that I played with until I got it to work and made patterns for the cut pieces. The first one was built with some scrap lumber I had available and once I got it figured out I built the others. I have a pretty good wood shop in the basement that I build things when I need to.
