I was out of state for sept and oct.....got ground ready today and planned on drilling in wheat tomorrow....is it too late? East central kansas and I figure on 70 to 80 lb per acre.....is it too late? BTW not much going in....just 3 acres to play with my all crop 66 next year...

There was at least one big operator sowing
yesterday (Saturday) behind the combine into bean
stubble in the Hesston-McPherson area. If we get
rain on Monday like they're predicting then a week
of warm weather it should be OK. Kind of a gamble
this late but it should work out unless winter
comes on hard and fast.

Thanks. I keep looking at forcast and looks like 50's during day and mid 30's at night. At least for next ten days. moisture was almost perfect and I hope for good stand. I put on heavy at about 90 pounds to help compensate for late sowing. Crossing fingers. Just glad I dont depend on this for a living. My bees are for that plus my day job. The wheat is for my 66 and maybe my gleaner A to play. thanks again.

I still need to get in about 200 acres in NEKS. If you planned
on grazing it that would be one thing. I always was taught that
it needs to be stooled out before winter really hits. Should be
in good shape.
