Busted a pipe going to the barn a few weeks ago.

Galvanized pipe sticking in the connection pit, galvanized pipe sticking in the cistern, and galvanized pipe sticking in the basement, whole deal older than me so hate to dig it up and patch it, if it broke the whole thing is brittle and cheesy..... Old old galvanized pipe ya know...

Said as long as we are boring in new pipe, how about keeping the cistern for the barn and emergencies, and run a pressurized for the outdoor waterer, so I have 2 ways of getting water, or able to cross in the pit one to the other... Options.... That cistern has watered my cows for many snow storms, well problems, and power outages hate to give it up...

So they drove up this morning, the boring folk set up by my machine shed, the well/pipe people started digging holes.

Turns out, the cistern had plastic pipe already, just short galvanized stubs, one I tweeted a few weeks ago. Dang it.

So repair the damage done digging the holes and hitting the pipe - sigh - the wasted time and money..... And wife not so excited about lawn now ripped up for basically no reason.....

Then go see how the boring people are doing.

Well.

The boring machine broke. It actually broke yesterday, but they were limping it along until the new part got overnited, but it was noon now and when they called no, no one was overnighting anything. Well the boring guy was a tad agitated, and took off for middle of Iowa to pick up the part himself by 5:00, and I sure wouldn't have wanted to be there when he got there he was very understandably not in a good mood and I'd guess the drive would not have mellowed his mood any at all.....

The best part, their boring machine, stuck in the ground and not working right, they got set up at 8:00 this morning in front of my machine shed. In front of the door. The door my combine was in.

Well. Tthat shouldn't be a problem I remember thinking, they should be done with the boring by noon....... Except of course, when their machine breaks down.......

So I had to spend the afternoon cleaning out my shed, dead equipment and all, and talk my wife (you, know, the happy one with the dug up lawn for no reason as it turned out...) into helping me pull an old dead combine backwards out and down the hill safely out of the way.......

So I got three rounds combined this evening.

Was a bueatiful day.

My mood hasn't been.

Feel better now, got it out some.

Good nite.
