Miles of white grass this morning, deck was slick.

Can't do the beans any good, or corn. Crops were late this year, some are done now.

Paul I just got a tickle here at No. Mankato but I was down to Farm- America yesterday and some of them between here and there really got it.

Was gonna take a tour and more pics after cutting alfalfa.

Then it started raining on me..... Sigh. The story of making hay this year.....

Anyhow, maybe tomorrow.

Beans are all crispy on the top 1/3. With the late planting, 1/3 were just starting to sort of turn. 1/3 were green but thinking of turning. And 1/3 were replanted or put in late, they still had flat pods, needed to fill. Don't know how those last 2/3 will turn out.

Corn got fried much more than I thought, lot of very crispy dull leaves on it today as I drove by. The stalk is green, but leaves are done. I had one small field planted very late after alfalfa, that will be milky. The rest were probably enough dented to be corn, but the kernels woulda filled out more, and now how long will the damaged corn take to dry down? Some of the good corn was planted May 28. Beans the first time into the teens of June.

So - don't know. Of all the years I could have used a late fall..... And we get one of the earliest frosts. Wasn't even predicted, tho we were in the warning area, the weathermen all said it should be 100 miles north of here, probably nothing for us to worry about.......
