just wondering how thing are panning out with high input prices and corn going for 3.40 to 3.60 a bushel

You rarely get caught too bad if you buy back inputs on the same market conditions that you sold commodities or product on, or at least you won't lose twice in a cycle that way.

3.40 to 3.60?? Where is that at? Its currently at 2.87 where I'm at. Corn harvest just getting started good here, and I think the price might slip a little more as harvest continues. I don't think to many people will be in a big crunch yet. But I have said all along that when grain prices go down and interest rates go back up, the ones that over extended themselves are going to be in a real big hurt. Going to take more than one bad season of corn prices though, to really put a hurt on. Glad I don't have any.

I don't get the push for corn. I have beans, wheat, and milo - that's good enough. I'm trying to decide how much to buy from a neighbor for hog feed. I'd sure hate to buy 1000 bushels from him if I end up needing 1500. Prices have to go up eventually, and I'll never make as much on hogs as I will right now with these prices.

still 3.40 ish here. But Im 20 miles from the river and an ethanol plant. Im guessing your from the fringe of the corn belt, where transportation really kills price.

just checked the website. 3.30 as of friday..guess its sliding a bit. But I have no more to sell this year, so havent been paying as much attention.
