I married into a farming family and have inherited my father-in-law's '48 SA. It is mechanically sound. Came with the draw-bar and rear lifts linked to the rock arm - no three-point mount in other words. I would rather not use a three-point conversion if I don't have to. I want to get involved in soil prep for a couple of community gardens but I have never operated a tractor while pulling an impliment nor am I sure of what impliments to use. The only impliment for this tractor left on the farm is a single-bottom, two-way plow. Farm supply stores around here sell six or eight foot disks and harrows set up for three-points. Is it practical to pull them with the draw-bar and lift-arms? There are lots of bone-yards around here. Should I look for older equipment?
