Corn Hitting Dent Stage

Looks like I'm going to get a crop, even though I planted the seeds way too close. I probably should have taken out every other row. Lots of small ears, but some decent ones too. Deer are already feeding on it. They'll be fat by November.

"They'll be fat by November."

The deer or the ears? When did you plant and when do you anticipate it will be ready to come off?

I planted sometime in May, forgot to write the date down. I expect it to come off when the critters clean it up. I never harvest any of the field crops. They are just small, 1/3 to 1/2 acre, plots planted for wildlife. It's a pretty early maturing variety, around 90 days give or take a couple three. I just hope it lasts through the winter.
