When to Sray RR Beans?

They are just coming out of the ground, but when do you spray, at what height?

Height of the beans really doesn't matter. It's the weed pressure.

Some of these beans will have been sprayed three times - the weeds are bad this year. The later you go the more it dings it.

As long as the beans stay ahead of the weeds I wait to spray. I like to spray just before beans canopy.

I do have a pre-emerge down early so early weed pressure is not a problem for me.

Nice to spray them before they flower, but if weeds are there you spray when it needs it.

Any time the weeds are catching up to the beans, earlier is better but then you need to spray 2-3 times if you spray real early....

If you actually just planted the beans, well that is really late, I'd plan to hit them when you see some weeds. As late as it is you shouldn't have much late season weed pressure.

You"re spraying the weeds, not the beans, so follow the others" advice...here, it"s typically 3 1/2-4 weeks after planting when the weeds are the proper height, and mostly emerged. Too early, you miss the late emerging ones that can do a lot of damage before the beans canopy.

I'm sure things have changed now but ago you didn't spray until AFTER the first tri leaves. I still use that as a guide today.
