JD 346 baler and oat straw

I harvested off the oats and went to bale the straw with my JD 346 baler. Having trouble with bales being too dense. I initially baled with too much tension and was breaking the twine. I backed off the chute tension completely and am running about 2-3 mph in average sized windrows and getting a 50 lb bale but the chute compression arm is not even touching the bale. I baled a bunch (1000 bales) of oat hay about two weeks ago with no problems at the same speed and windrow size for about a 50 lb bale. These straw bales were way heavier, I"d say over 90 lbs before I adjusted the bale tension dcompletely off. I haven"t baled much straw so I was wondering if I was missing something. I have the hydraulic tensioner on the baler.

Only thing I can think of is material is built up in the corners of bale chamber restricting hay movement. I'd suggest cleaning hay out of chamber and inspect the bale chamber for lodged hay.

Does the baler have those side doors to increase or help decrease bale density? I can not remember if they do or do not.
