Suggestions on what to plant

Have a low field that retains water in southern KS. It's almost July and still nothing in it because of the rain. Talked to the county agent about what to plant? Maybe an annual hay crop. Would it be to late for a row crop, say grain sorghum or soybeans? Any suggestions on various crops to get in whether hay or row crops? Thanks for any ideas.

Did you get even more rain last night? Looks like a lot of areas in southern and eastern Kansas (including us) got wet.

If you have a use for it something like sudan grass for hay would work well. It's getting late enough that an early frost could wipe out milo or soybeans before they are mature. That said, I know a lot of guys here in the McPherson area are still planning to double crop beans after the wheat is off but I'd think the window of opportunity is closing fast, especially with the additional rain.
