Hard rain and high winds, but we are still hanging in there! These spring storms are flat brutal!

one strong wind after another, corn blown over and doesn't have a chance to stand up.

The Weatherbug station in Goessel, KS (about four miles from us) recorded a bit over 4 inches of rain and it all came down in less than one hour early this morning. This fully doubled our year to date precipitation total; nothing like going from drought to flooding in the time it takes to drink a few cups of coffee. At one point during the storm I checked the website and it showed a rainfall rate of over 9 inches per hour. Some friends of ours had vehicle windows knocked out by large hail but we didn't have any at our place. The high winds kind of did a number on the corn in the garden, though.
