dealing with hail damaged corn

mother nature decided to make me have to replant a field of corn after she dumped tennis ball size hail on it. most of the corn was at 7 leaf or better and it broke off at ground level. this is conventional corn, so do I
1. disc it and start over?
2. spray with round up and replant?
3. replant and then spray with roundup?
4. cultivate it to knock down grasses and weeds and replant?
I was going to cultivate in a couple days since the grass and weeds were starting to grow, but was not sure this option would be the best for replanting.
thoughts?

When replanting corn it is best to kill everything before replanting. Whether it is by chemical or tillage it is up to you.

If this is not RR corn then applying RR would be fine. If it is RR corn you better disc it or use another chemical to kill the corn that is growing.

If it was mine I would disc it and plant. That will get rid of the standing corn to get better sunlight to the new seeds.

thanks, it's not rr corn so could spray but if I disc I get a flater area to work with vs. running the rows that are there.

Agree with Ia Gary, locally we use field cultivator instead of disk because of our clay, but same idea.

Years ago I had a 93 acre chem/frost kill, court4sy of an over zealous dealer that wasn"t watching the weather. I used the field cultivator for one pass, and replanted.
