Any of you guys heard of this stuff? Checked out google and supposedly it's an annual that produces very well in many soils. Suppose to be a good horse hay, some say better than orchard grass or timothy.
Thanks,
Mike

I had a buddy who planted some. It grew like crazy and his livestock seemed to prefer it to his other hay. I'm going to be putting out 5 acres of it soon

I grew it two years in a row. Doesn"t grow well in Central ND. Too cool of a spring will stunt the growth and then when the heat hits and the rains stop in july it stops growing and turns brown. The customer who bought it said his younger horses would eat the teff but not the older ones. they would rather starve then eat Teff. Guess they had ate alfalfa for too many years and had grown use to it. Don"t forget the seed is very expensive. If you could grow it someplace that has a warmer spring it may do better. I broadcasted it in and then used a cultipacker to pack it. Without a packer it won"t germ.
