Dairy. Milk prices

If you have to ask, the answer is almost certainly no.

But if you like, you can be like the farmer who won the lottery - when asked what he would do with his millions, he replied that he'd probably just keep farming until it was gone.

If you had the money to invest in a dairy at today's prices, I have no idea why you would do it. This question comes up every time milk and beef prices are up.

If you have a family check with them farming and most certainly dairy farming is very demanding on time studys have shown farmers spend less time with family then somebody in a factory. remember you dont get days off.
Say that what about an alternative right now we are bringing in goat cheese there is a demand for it push the pencil

My son started on his own last august after working and saving for 10 years. But we already had a barn that was dairy ready after some rebiulding and repairs. Had our own lumber sawed and did the work oursleves with help from neighbors. He buys TMR and we rent out our land. If he had to go out and buy the equipment to put in his own crops, it wouldn't be feasable, even at current prices. We used or own money, too. If he had to go out and borrow the money it would have been a very iffy proposition. Especially once the price starts dropping again (and it will).
