Raspberry near Nightshades?

Starting to plant a woody polycutlure this year, which consist of multiple perennial food producing plants such as raspberry and blackberry. Many recommendations suggest not to plant brambles near tomatoes, and the like and also not in any area where wild brambles are growing. This is kind limiting and does not seem too practical to me. What are any of your personal experiences with this? I have seen brambles planted along garden borders many times, curious if this is a long term trend to keep the berries or not?

Before we started our patch, we grew several varieties of thornless blackberries and raspberries in one end of our kitchen garden. Not 30' away, we also plant tomatoes. I don't think I've seen anything that said not to. When we planted for production, I eliminated a native blackberry patch near the cultivated berry patch. This was recommended for disease prevention. Brush hogged them down one fall, then mowed with a lawnmower since.
