3pt ROTARY TILLER

I need advice over a choice of purchase of a King
Kutter TG72 VS RTG 72 ROTARY Tiller. I know the
reverse tine tiller takes more HP but I also know
my Troy built small tiller is reverse and does a
better job. I would appreciate any response and
thanks in advance. Allen

I've owned a KK ll tiller for over 10 yrs with no problems except wore the tines out and replaced the set last yr. I have no experience using a reverse tine tiller.

I have used reverse and standard rotating tractor driven rotatillers and the reverse is the way to go. The biggest advantage for me, is that the reverse operation brings the trash to the end of the field and greatly simplifies clean up. It probably does require more HP, but that was not an issue for the tractor I was using.

I haven't had opportunity to use a reverse tine. However, what Rcp has stated makes sense. I do use a 6 foot King cutter that turns the same direction as the tractor is traveling and other than jumping over larger stones it leaves a real nice seed bed and is pretty well built. Are the two models comparable in price? Good luck

Alot depends on how many rocks, roots and other things are in your garden/field.Reverse rotation will more likely incur damage with a rock over the standard rotation. It also won't incorporate
organic matter into the soil as well tends to kick it forward.

I have the KK 72" and like others, I am replacing the tines this spring. It will push the tractor forward as it runes in the same direction. Need a tractor that will hold speed. My MF135 does a good job with it.
