I want to overseed 14 acres of grass pasture/hayfield to add clover. In the past I have had good success with frost cracking but with this years snow cover it looks like it may be that the time for frost cracking will be over before the snow is gone and/or the fields will be too muddy to use equipment.
So - is there some good alternative for someone who can"t afford to buy a no-till drill or such. I don"t want to plow since I have a fine stand of grass right now.
Any advice?
Thanks.

I agree with Animal, although I would like to add that it will help to run the cows (or whatever) through the pasture after the snow thaws and it begins to green up. The hooves will help work the seed in, just don't leave them in there too long.
