liquid fertilizer to burn down grass/weeds

Bought some tankers to scrap and have several hundred gallons of.liquid nitrogen,25-0-0 and 0-0-16 potash liquid. Can I use this to burn down weeds along fence lines? I'd like to burn it down so we can keep it in check with herbicides in the future. What % should I use for a one time application?

I doubt that either one would control grass, you might manage to control the growth of some broad leaf weeds, but i think it will just encourage the grasses to grow more...

It might temporarily scorch the grass, but i think that will be all... i've never known liquid fert to kill grass...

Yes carl it will burn it down. But any grass or weeds that grow in the future will be Super Weeds cause of all the fertilizer.

You would be better off spreading that fertilizer somewhere it would do some good and just use roundup in the fence rows from day one.

There used to be guys in my area spread manure next to fence to keep cows from reaching but next year they really wanted it so fertilizer might look good short term but long term not the best

"Under the right conditions" it might burn it "some". Generally, as a rule the liquid fertilizer won't be good for "burndown". Essentially, all you will accomplish is a little set-back to the plants that will then grow like crazy. Use some inexpensive 2-4-d on the young tender weeds and you'll get what you need. Think about it like this: If liquid fertilizer "burned" everything it came in contact with, how much of it do you think would sell?

It won"t be a permanent kill. When applied to corn, it often whitens the leaves....you think you killed it, but it greens up in a few days.

You'd be better off using that across the pasture. Put it under fence rows, it'll burn them for a bit, but then grow like crazy....
