This wind today is unbelievable here. Its 40 degrees and spitting snow, I think its coming from Paul's house, now that's some wind!!!!

It's coming from somewhere. The last 6 days it's blown here. These are the highest sustained wind speeds, and highest gusts for those days.

39 sustained, 51 gust
39 sustained, 49 gust
41 sustained, 53 gust
33 sustained, 43 gust
28 sustained, 35 gust
40 sustained, 56 gust.

Pretty much miserable working on anything outdoors.

I don't know about you Dave, but even working in the shop with that constant howling is nerve racking to me, at the end of the day I am worn slick from it.

That's ok, yesterday I got the wind from you, was a strong south wind all day, even 35 degrees didnt feel warm at all.

Of course, now a stronger wind out of the north at 5 degrees isn't helping anyone's mood either! ;)

Tucked in the cattle and cows for another cold night, see what 2 days from now brings again.

That is very true. Even in my well insulated and heated shop, it's just kind of depressing. Especially in this area because when the wind is blowing like that, you can look out the window and the sky is just hazy from dirt blowing. What I can't understand is how people handled the dust bowl. Constant weather like that, and they were holed up in a tiny little house, and wouldn't leave the place for weeks at a time. They were tougher than me.

Had that warm up along with that howlin wind out of the South and damp as could be. I wasn't as cold when it was 12 below zero. Hate those damp South winds!

I have not seen the wind blow like this since I was a kid and we had to gunny sack the horse. For those of you that have never had to do that, you roll an old gunny sack up tight as you can and stick it in the horses' a$$ so the wind don't blow the bit out of the horses mouth.......

I wonder sometimes around my area a lot of fence rows got pushed out i got over a mile west and north no trees . the wind breaks around my house are taking a terrable beating .my calves are very unhappy to ran out of small square bales and started feeding round bales in the pasture i think they liked being feed in the barn.
