Good bye 2013

What a year this has been! Shop burned to the ground in Jan. Rained so much this spring I just barely got the corn in, then it rained a bunch more and the plowed under clover got away from me so I couldn't cultivate, then almost a full three months of high temps and wind, corn at this point was knee high and tasseling. We did have a whale of a first cutting hay crop that we were six weeks late in cutting because of the rains, need I go on? Here is to a much better 2014 may this be the year that we almost break even!!!!

AMEN to that! I just hope I never have to look back and remember 2013 as one of the GOOD years.

If that comes to pass, kill me now!!! By the way is your weather still miserable? I seems like you guys have caught he11 this winter so far and Paul and his area too..

Ya one of the best/worse years I have seen. Cold and wet spring made for a poor garden. But had a good hay crop. Then in Aug we had 15 inches of rain in one week then no rain for the next 4 or 5 week and hot so we went from flooding to drought in just a tad bit over a month. No the last deer of gun deer season and this year I only shoot one deer which is not good since we live on deer meat. Oh well just hope 2014 is a better year. But with what we have in DC we can only hope

It warmed up a little over the weekend, melted the ice off the trees and fences, but we're back in the deep freeze again. Supposed to be big snow tonight and tomorrow.

Don't you just love this global warming LOL. Saw on the news about some water fall up there that is frozen over

When did you get back home? I know you had a nice time, but what about refreshment did you have plenty of that?

Got up to 2 or so degrees today.

This is the third week in a row, weather guessers are saying will warm up for a couple days and then comes the coldest cold snap of the season after that!

They were right the first two times, was minus 15 the first time, minuse 17 the second time.

They have minus 13F as the high on Monday, minus 22 for the low....

I recall back in was it 1982, was 33 below one morning, I tugged on the JD snow mobile and it started, went snowmobiling just so I could say I snowmobiles at 33 below.

It was a short trip tho....
